The forum, entitled "No More Business as Usual in Maryland,"
will provide key Howard County businessmen an opportunity to outline their personal perspectives on the state of Maryland's
economy as it's been affected by government rules, taxes and restrictions. Following the opening discussion, all forum participants
will be given an open invitation to discuss their personal concerns with the way Maryland does business.
The Jeff Robinson for House of Delegates campaign will be inviting
a wide range of citizens from across Legislative District 13 in Howard County. Participants will range from executives to
small business owners to taxpayers and workers who may be in search of employment.
The objective of the 90 minute event will be to develop thematic guidelines for legislative
reform in the 2011 General Assembly session. The Robinson team will document the considerations and the recommendations that
result from the forum to provide a foundation for future change that should help improve the resiliency of the Maryland business
climate.
The special business guests will focus on several strategic topics:
- Describing the impact of government policies (taxes, regulation, zoning, programs) on their
business planning process.
- What they see as Maryland's major advantages anddisadvantages as a place to do business.
- Assessing
whether or not they see this as a good time to expandhere in Maryland. And, if not, what could the state governmentdo to make
it more attractive to growth in the near future?
